John Clewarth
John Clewarth - Author and Story Teller
Hello everyone and thank you for visiting my website!
I mostly write full-time now but I was a teacher for many years and I still do a little but of teaching here and there. Children are excellent sources of inspiration and it's really useful when writing dialogue and forming characters, to draw upon some of the things I see and hear from students! One of the best things about being an author is to see the enjoyment that readers get from having my stories in their hands, along with the lovely feedback I receive from them.
You can check out my other books in later pages but my first novel, ‘Firestorm Rising’, is a spooky tale, aimed at the 8 to 12 age range, and it reached the finals of The People's Book Prize. I was really proud of that!
I write spooky stories, among others, but I believe scary should be fun - like a tummy-tickling roller-coaster ride - and I love to sprinkle my stories with laughs and zany characters.
I live near the ancient town of Pontefract, West Yorkshire, where there's even a haunted castle! I hope you enjoy looking around my website and if you would like to get in touch, please do, via the 'Contact John' page. And, yes, I will reply, either on here or directly by email!
