I've had a busy but brilliant time working in partnership with Wakefield Libraries and local schools over the past few days, delivering writing workshops to inspire a love of reading and writing. I've enjoyed the privilege of working with three lovely schools and almost 100 talented pupils in three different Wakefield libraries! Fabulous Flanshaw J&I visited Wakefield One Library with Year 5; Super Sandal Castle (VA) Community Primary School visited Sandal Library with Year 6, and Hotshots from Halfpenny Lane JI&N School visited Pontefract Library with Year 5.
The children created excellent story openers and designed bone-chilling monsters, using my two new books, 13 Tales of Tinselly Terror and The Incredible Quest of Charlie Oddie as stimuli. Some pictures from Halfpenny Lane visit can be seen here - we had oodles of fun! I look forward sharing some of the children's writing and designs very soon!
